Fort Myers Pest Control FAQ

Straight answers to the questions Southwest Florida homeowners ask most about pest control, pricing, safety, and what to expect.

General

Southwest Florida's rainy season (June through October) drives insects indoors to escape flooding and saturated soil. Ants, roaches, and spiders seek dry shelter and food sources inside your walls, kitchen, and bathrooms. A quarterly perimeter treatment creates a chemical barrier that stops them before they get in.
The top pests we treat are fire ants, German cockroaches, palmetto bugs (American cockroaches), mosquitoes, silverfish, spiders, and rodents. The warm, humid climate and sandy soil in Lee and Collier counties make this region especially active for insects year-round.
Palmetto bugs are American cockroaches, which are the large, reddish-brown roaches you see flying around at night. They are different from German cockroaches, which are smaller, light brown, and breed indoors in kitchens and bathrooms. Both require different treatment approaches, and we handle both.
We offer same-day service for most pest emergencies in our service area. If you call before noon, we can typically be at your property the same afternoon. After-hours calls are returned first thing the next business morning.

Pricing

A one-time general pest treatment runs between $99 and $249 depending on your home's size and the severity of the problem. Quarterly prevention plans are the best value, as they keep your home protected year-round for a lower per-visit cost. We provide free inspections and transparent quotes before any work begins.
No. Every new customer receives a free, no-obligation inspection. We walk through your property, identify pest entry points and active issues, and give you an honest quote on the spot. If you decide to move forward, we can often begin treatment the same day.
For Southwest Florida homes, absolutely. The year-round warmth and humidity mean pests never truly go dormant here the way they do up north. A quarterly plan costs less per visit than one-time treatments and prevents infestations from starting. Most of our customers are on quarterly plans because one-time treatments often need to be repeated within a few months anyway.

Services

Our general treatment covers the full exterior perimeter of your home (foundation, eaves, window frames, door frames) plus targeted interior treatment in kitchens, bathrooms, and common entry points. We treat for ants, spiders, roaches, silverfish, and other household pests in a single visit.
We use a two-step approach: direct mound injection to eliminate the queen and colony, followed by a granular broadcast treatment across your yard to create a barrier against new colonies migrating in from neighboring properties. Most customers see full colony collapse within 24 to 48 hours.
German cockroach infestations require an aggressive, multi-visit treatment plan. We use professional-grade gel baits, insect growth regulators, and targeted crack-and-crevice applications. A single treatment reduces the population significantly, but full elimination typically takes 2 to 3 follow-up visits over 4 to 6 weeks. We guarantee our German roach treatment plans.
Our monthly barrier spray reduces mosquito populations in your yard by up to 90%. We treat foliage, shaded areas, standing water sources, and the perimeter of your outdoor living space. The treatment lasts approximately 3 to 4 weeks, which is why we recommend monthly applications during peak mosquito season (April through November in Southwest Florida).

Safety

Yes. We use EPA-registered products that are specifically formulated for residential use. After exterior treatments, the product dries within 30 to 60 minutes and poses no risk to children or pets. For interior treatments, we may recommend staying out of treated areas for 1 to 2 hours while products settle. We always explain safety precautions before we begin.
For standard exterior and targeted interior treatments, you do not need to leave. We treat specific areas (baseboards, under sinks, entry points) rather than fogging entire rooms. For more intensive treatments like German roach elimination, we may recommend you and your pets stay out of the kitchen and bathroom areas for about 2 hours after application.
We use professional-grade products from trusted manufacturers like Syngenta, BASF, and Bayer. These are not available at retail stores and are significantly more effective than over-the-counter sprays. Every product we apply is EPA-registered, and we keep full Safety Data Sheets available if you want to review them.

Process

For general treatments, clear items away from baseboards in the kitchen and bathroom so we can treat along the edges. For German roach treatments, clean countertops and remove items from under sinks. We will give you a specific prep checklist when you schedule your appointment.
A standard exterior and interior general pest treatment takes 30 to 45 minutes for an average-sized home. Fire ant yard treatments take about 20 to 30 minutes depending on lot size. German roach treatments take 45 to 60 minutes due to the detailed crack-and-crevice work involved.
We re-treat at no additional charge. Our quarterly plans include a satisfaction guarantee: if you see pest activity between scheduled visits, call us and we will come back to address it. There is no extra fee, no fine print.
Yes. We provide commercial pest control for restaurants, offices, retail spaces, warehouses, and vacation rentals across Lee and Collier counties. Commercial properties have different regulatory requirements and treatment schedules, so we build custom plans based on your business type and square footage.
